V. The Great Controversy Suite, No. 10 - Time of Harvest
by Pablo A. Aguilar
In the final conflict there were people who stood loyal to God in a time of great distress. They were wholeheartedly devoted to the worship of their creator and obedient to his commandments. But because of their obedience to God, some were in prison cells, some in forests and mountains and they pleaded for divine protection. Armed men, urged on by evil angels, were preparing for the work of death. Now, in the hour of greatest extremity, God stepped in.
At midnight God unveiled His power to deliver His people. The sun appeared shining in its strength. Signs and wonders followed. The wicked looked with terror on the scene, while the righteous saw the indications of their deliverance. In the midst of the angry sky was one clear space of indescribable glory. The voice of God came from there like the sound of many waters, saying, “It is done!” That voice shook the heavens and the earth. There was a mighty earthquake, “such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since. The people of God received His approval and were victorious with Him while the impenitent were destroyed in the ensuing harvest.
Dedication
Dedicated to my sister Yolanda: beautiful and wild as a girl, now a tamed and wise woman.
